Call for Africa Research Development participants
APSA is now accepting applications from early-career scholars based in Africa who are interested in attending the 2020 APSA Annual Meeting as part of a Research Development Group. Organized by the African Politics Conference Group (APCG), the Research Development Group offers a small-group opportunity to advance current research towards publication, participate in the APSA annual meeting, and develop scholarly networks with colleagues. The Africa RDG will take place on Wednesday, September 9 in conjunction with the 2020 APSA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA. Travel funding is provided for selected participants. Call for Newsletter Editors
APSA is accepting applications from alumni fellows and leaders interested in serving as co-editors of the Africa Workshop Alumni e-Newsletter. Co-editors will manage production of the bi-annual newsletter for a two-year period. The editorial team will be provided a $1,500 grant for production, inclusive of a modest honorarium per issue, as well as two year’s APSA membership for each editor. The two-person editorial team should consist of one US-based and one Africa-based scholar. Applicants with past experience managing a newsletter or listserv and an enthusiasm for encouraging interaction across multiple academic networks are encouraged to apply. Applications should be sent to, consisting of: 1) Updated CV/resume, and 2) One-page cover letter highlighting the skills/experience you bring to the position, why you are interested in the position, and any ideas/plans for future issues of the newsletter. Serving as co-editor of the Alumni e-newsletter is both an excellent networking opportunity and rewarding service to the alumni community.
