Subjects for discussion will include: teaching in election seasons; concerns for non-tenured faculty; providing classroom space for diverse views; responsibilities of civic education; techniques for addressing tense exchanges.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This roundtable addresses career opportunities outside the academy. Topics include: strategies for identifying career opportunities, how to develop skills and materials for a non-academic job search, and tips for transitioning out of the academy.\u00a0 Panelists represent research organizations, think tanks, the federal government, and non-profit organizations.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

10:00 to 11:30 a.m.<\/strong><\/td>\nMaking Connections: How to Build a Professional Network and Why You Need One<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>This session addresses networking at all career stages. Roundtable panelists will discuss a variety of topics related to the goals of networking, including how to connect online and in person, the role of networking in fostering diversity and inclusion, building connections outside the academy, and the outcomes of networking on career success.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
