Public Opinion Division

For the 2019 Annual Meeting, efforts were made to represent public opinion research from across the globe–while the majority of panels represent research on the United States, the section sponsored panels on Europe, Japan and Latin America.  Among papers on the United States, panels were constructed to represent a diverse set of issues and groups such as the rise of #MeToo, immigration policy, social identity, redistributive policies and young adults.  Most of the paper presenters are authored by faculty but many of the papers are faculty co-authoring with non-faculty.  Only those holding faculty positions were asked to serve as discussants and student/non-faculty volunteers were asked to serve as panel chairs.
