Welcome to the French Politics\/ Association Fran\u00e7aise de Science Politique Partner Association of APSA.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are a highly active group that works with APSA to promote the study of French Politics, francophone countries, as well as France, and French Political Science through international collaboration.\u00a0\u00a0 Developing on the one hand from the over 40-year-old APSA-related group of French Politics and, on the other, a new form of partnership group created by APSA in 2018, the former FPG has joined forces with the AFSP<\/a>. \u00a0Each year, we host two panels at the APSA meeting and one panel or roundtable at the AFSP Congress held every other year.<\/p>\n

The next AFSP Congr\u00e8s will be in Lyon from June 30th<\/sup> through July 2nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 For information about participating, go to the AFSP site in January. \u00a0Next year\u2019s APSA will take place in Boston from September 3rd<\/sup> to September 6th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

FRENCH POLITICS<\/a> is the official journal of the association and serves as a platform to promote our scholarly international collaborations, often through the panels we organize at APSA and AFSP.\u00a0 We also work with our counterpart in the Political Studies Association of the UK.\u00a0 Please see the News page<\/a> for the most recent work of the PSA group.<\/p>\n

We take great pride in having an open organization that welcomes a full diversity of scholars who work on France and francophone political issues across the multiple epistemological and methodological approaches embraced by the discipline of political science across the globe. So please let us know how you would like to participate.\u00a0<\/strong>We now have a listserv with Google Groups at <\/strong>https:\/\/groups.google.com\/g\/frenchpoliticsgroup<\/a>.\u00a0 You can join our group to receive emails, post updates, and discuss. To join, you need to have a Google account. We are also happy to post any news you have on the website,<\/strong> or you can add it to our Google group.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isabel Perera (Cornell University) and Amy G. Mazur (Washington State University) co convene the group with\u00a0 Elisa Chelle (Universit\u00e9 de Nanterre) who is the liaison from AFSP.<\/p>\n

We also organize three awards<\/a>: the Stanley Hoffman Award for the best-published article on French politics every other year, the Frank Lee Wilson Best APSA Paper Award every other year, and the Georges Lavau Best Dissertation Award every five years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We hope this website provides some excellent resources on our organization AND on the study of French Politics. For example, see the database on French articles<\/a> that came out of our collaboration and our published bibliography of all articles on elections published in French Politics <\/em>from 2003 to 2023<\/a>. In 2027, we plan on doing a short course on teaching French Politics<\/p>\n
