justify\">Since 2017, APSA has supported seventeen projects at six different institutions in the Middle East and North Africa. Political Science and related departments at public and private universities across the MENA region are an important and primary source of support for PhD students and faculty. APSA seeks <span style=\"font-size: medium\">to partner with motivated departments in offering enhanced support to graduate students and faculty across core functional areas such as research, grants, publications, and teaching. By expanding networks and maximizing resources, we envision a<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\"> multi-year collaboration\u00a0between APSA and university departments to explore opportunities for program growth and foster excellence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Through a Call for Proposal (CFP) process, APSA will award grants of up $3,000 for project activities through 2025. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The CFP is aimed at departments of political science at universities in the Arab MENA region. Related social science departments and interdisciplinary programs (such as those focusing on public law, international studies, diplomacy, etc.), as well as university-affiliated research centers, are also welcome to take part in the initiative. University departments outside the MENA region interested in engaging with partners in the MENA region are similarly encouraged to join the initiative. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Interested departments should first download the <a href=\"http:\/\/web.apsanet.org\/mena\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2023\/01\/MENA-Departmental-Collaborations-CFP.revised2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call for Proposals<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\">For more information on APSA\u2019s MENA Program, questions on institutional eligibility, or to discuss project ideas in greater detail, please e-mail menaworkshops@apsanet.org<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Initial applications should be submitted through the online form and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium\">consist of the following materials: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Departmental questionnaire (<a href=\"https:\/\/apsa.wufoo.com\/forms\/apsa-mena-departmental-collaborations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">follow this link<\/a> to access the questionnaire)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Preliminary concept note (2-3 pages) that describes a challenge or opportunity faced by graduate students or faculty in the department and a suggested project or program to address this issue. Describe project objectives, the activities to be undertaken, and how APSA can support the project. If financial support is requested, describe what resources may already exist to support the project and provide a draft budget for requested funding. <em>[Note: APSA staff will\u00a0<\/em><\/span><em>work with selected applicants to refine the project scope and confirm a project budget; the concept note submitted here will be the first step in this process.
