New Column, Coming Soon!

Brief Description:

This column will provide a forum for women to share their stories and ask questions of each other about the rewards and challenges of designing and defining careers in ways that reflect their unique life choices, priorities, and constraints. Many women in political science have achieved fulfilling and socially valuable careers that do not necessarily meet conventional markers of success such as working at research institutions, achieving tenure, or having a strong publication record. Decisions about family, work-life balance, partnership-based decisions, personal passions, and other variables inform the trajectory of women’s careers. The space in this column will, hopefully, contribute to the larger conversation about the status of women in the profession by giving voice to their diverse and complex experiences.
