Alumni Newsletter

The Africa Workshops Alumni e-Newsletter was a biannual publication co-edited by alumni fellows. The newsletter published short pieces that provide scholarly insights into a changing Africa, addressing the variety of methodological, theoretical, empirical, and ethical concerns reflected in the study of African political science. More importantly, it aimed to build a community that connects junior researchers, highlight contemporary scholarly debates, and share some of the exciting research and educational opportunities on the continent. In Summer 2017, alumni were given membership to the African Politics Conference Group (APCG) and were integrated into ongoing section communications such as This Week in Africa, a weekly bulletin that curates news about democracy, development, and daily life across Africa.

Co-editors for 2015-2017 were George Bob-Milliar (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology; Ghana) and Jeffrey Paller (University of San Francisco; USA). From 2013-2015, the newsletter was co-edited by Sethunya Mosime (University of Botswana) and Dorothy Mpabanga (University of Botswana).
